The Atelier

A boutique event design house, working out of Kuching since 2018.

Ultivex was founded on a single conviction: that a great event has more in common with a screenplay than a spreadsheet. We build events around story, then we engineer them to the millimetre.

Our story

From two producers to a senior bench of eleven.

Ultivex began in a shophouse on Carpenter Street with two founders and a stubborn theory: that Sarawak deserved an event house that could match the ambition of any Klang Valley competitor without losing its sense of place. Eight years later we have produced more than 140 events from Kuching to Penang to Singapore.

We remain small on purpose. Two flagship engagements a month, plus a handful of intimate private commissions, is the limit our senior team can hold without dilution. The waitlist is part of the work.

What has not changed is how we run an event. Concept first. Logistics in service of concept. A senior producer in the room until the last truck leaves the loading bay.

What we believe

Four principles we keep refusing to compromise on

01

Concept earns the budget

If we cannot articulate the central idea of an event in one sentence, the budget is not ready to be spent. Discipline at the brief stage saves money everywhere else.

02

Beauty is in the boring

The rehearsal schedule, the contingency drill, the cable plan — these decide whether the night feels effortless. We over-prepare so attendees do not have to notice us at all.

03

No middleman pricing

Every supplier invoice on your event is shared with you at cost. Our margin is on the producer hours we charge for, not on the freight bill or the floral order.

04

Sarawak first, regional reach

Our atelier is here for a reason. We hire from Sarawak first, source from East Malaysia where we can, and travel the rest of the team in when scale demands it.

Inside the atelier

How a brief moves through our studio

From the first call to the last load-out report, every event follows the same internal rhythm. We share it openly so clients always know which act we are in.

Week 1–2

Listen

Two sessions with your team plus desk research on your audience. We end this stage with a one-page brief signed by everyone.

Week 3–4

Compose

Concept, narrative arc, visual world, run-of-show outline. Three rounds of revision are built into the fee — fewer is rare.

Week 5–10

Build

Procurement, fabrication, rehearsals, contingency walks. Weekly status meetings, daily updates in the final fortnight.

Event week

Stage

Three rehearsals on site for flagship events, two for private commissions. A senior producer holds the room the entire night.

Week +1

Strike

Load-out begins the moment the last guest leaves. Venue is returned within agreed window, suppliers paid within seven days.

Week +3

Report

Post-event deck with measurement against brief KPIs, edited highlight film, photo gallery and a candid debrief on what could be sharper next time.
